Before the last 10 years, South African Wines barely crested the bottom of the grocery store shelf. Most of the wine produced in the country went directly to be distilled into brandy. Today the story is changing. South African wines have emerged as both some of the best valued red and white wines and of the highest quality. We will travel from Swartland to Stellenbosch and beyond tasting Cabernet, Pinotage and Chenin Blanc, and several other interesting wines from the region.
